Hi Bryan, I have bought
- marriage certificate Tom & Lilian, says bachelor and both actors ??
- birth certificate of Dorothy, shows mother as Theresa Sharp(formerly Garbutt).
- 1891 Census has Lily Garbutt (2), I got her birth certificate andTheresa is the mother, no father. Sounds like she was a bit of a one.
- 1901 Census shows Theresa now as Creed (that's another mystery) with her children, Dorothy and her 2 brothers. The dates,ages and where born are all correct.
- I have searched, as you have so kindly, for the marriage certificates of Theresa to Sharp and Creed, with no luck.
- I also bought 10a 330, but not Tom. Looking closely the 330 could be 339. Not sure if this would make any difference.
- I also searched the marriage indexes year by year.
So as you can see it's all a mystery. My only thought is they didn't marry but had three children and then he ran off with the chorus girl who was 17, had a baby and then died at 37. Thanks again for all your help. Just to tell you, I made about 10 corrections to documents, the way you told me to. Thanks again, Frankie
