I'm trying to find a birth certifcate for my ancestor James Murray, born circa 1848. I know he was born in Jarrow, but there doesn't seem to be a registration volume with this name and because I'm not totally sure of the year of birth, there are a lot of possibles.

To help me narrow it down, does anyone know which registration district a Jarrow birth would have been registered at please?
