I have no dispute with the overspill hospitals mentioned, but that was not my point at all.

Someone is trying to find their birth Mother and I felt I had to bring attention to the Mother & Baby home in Salisbury. I had my children at Odstock (early 1960's)and that is how I met several unmarried Mothers from Poole and Bournemouth. They told me their stories and I have never forgotten them. It was like listening to stories from 'The Workhouse'. I even visited the place and it was dark, miserable and very sad. I tried to get permission for one of the girls to come for Tea but it was not allowed. Nothing was allowed. Not even the camera they smuggled in to take that last farewell picture of their soon to be adopted infants.
