My family come from the Parish of St. Marychurch, Devon, now a part of Torquay, thought he parish church is still in existance. I have traced the Gilding family roots back as far as 1680 in this parish, but still have lots of gaps in my information. My great-great-grandparents migrated to Australia in 1869/70.

I would be delighted to hear from anyone with information about the family name of Gilding.

Jean Perriman/Perryman married John Gilding on 29 Jan 1789, but I know the Perriman/Perryman name has been around Devon since that time ... any information please.

My great-great-great-grandmother's name was Smith (c1800), whose father was a cordswainer (bootmaker) in Ipplepen, Devonshire.
