Joseph Fisher immigrated to Canada in either 1880 or 1881 along with some of his siblings.
He raised horses at his farm in Milton Ontario. He travelled to Alberta to sell his horses. Obviously, he must of liked the Millarville area as he decided to build a ranch there.
Later in 1898, Elizabeth Stagg travelled out to get married to Joseph Fisher. She was 19 at the time. (I was incorrect when I previously said 1899). She was accompanied by one of her brothers, I forget which one. Over the next few years, the rest of the Stagg family also journeyed out to Alberta to join them.
The only one who did not stay out West was the oldest son William Fraser Stagg who went back to Toronto where he married his wife Catherine Smith in 1906. They had 4 daughters before he was killed in 1918.
