Hello searchers:
I am still trying to find the town of origns in Co.Down,IRL for my KEENAN family. I just posed this on the Co.Down site but note the number of families that are found in marriage records in Maryport, Cumberland, ENG of these same families.
Any information on these families and connections to Cumberland,ENG and Co.Down,IRL would be most appreciated.

Hello searchers:
Margaret Mooney was kind enough to post a Griffiths Val for 1863 re: some of the above names found in Newtownards, Co.Down. I have all of those names found on family chart for my KEENAN family; I am still however trying to find the town of origins for these Keenan's. Any help would be most appreciated. The names with out dates but with estimates:
John Keenan (b. 1814:IRL (+/- 20) had the following daughters:
- Ann:b.1834:IRL (married in 1859 in Maryport,Cumberland,ENGJohn Burns;b.1832)
- Susannah (married Waterson, then John Boyd in Maryport,ENG in 1865.
- Margaret (married Edward Rice in Maryport, ENG in 1865)
Dionysius (Denis?) Keenan; b. 1814:IRL )+/-20):
-had a son, Thomas(b.1835:IRL +/_ 5 who married Martha Campbell in Maryport, Cumberland,ENG in 1856.

My guess is that some of these people knew each other in Co.Down or their families and later moved to Cumberland,ENG for work in approximately 1850.
Any ideas?
Best regards,
Chuck Keenan
