My Ggrandfather Josiah Warne was born Oct 18, 1846, in Gunnislake, Calstock, Cornwall. He died June 30, 1898 & his obituary gives this information. His parents were John & Elizabeth Harris Warne, who were born in Mary Tavy, Devon. I can't find a birth record for Josiah that matches the info I have. I was told that a christening record existed for him listing the christening as Nov 1847 but it gives his age as 4 yrs old. I don't think his parents would have waited until Josiah was that old to to baptize him. The Warne family was non-conformist. Two of Josiah's brothers were baptized at the Wesleyan Church. That the family was non-conformist may be why I can't find a record of his birth or christening. I would appreciate help.
