The Hawkins family of Altincham ran a prosperous haulage business in the early 1920's headed by John Isaac Hawkins from Somerset (via Wales, then Parbold Hall). John and his wife Selina had 12 children and the youngest Edna Marion, had a son Geoffrey in 1926 'out of wedlock'. We never ever did find out who Geoff's father was (Geoff died in 1994) but still we try to find out, but all those who may have known are long dead. Is there by any remote chance anyone out there who had a family member known to them who may have spoken about this or given the father a name? Obviously, given the times and the family 'position' in local society then, it wasn't spoken about too publically and indeed Geoff never called Edna Mother in public. Any thoughts?
