I wonder if anyone with a 1851 Census index for the Chester area can check for my Great Grandmother. I have checked BMD, CheshireBMD, IGI etc but not been able to find any trace of a birth or christening. I suspect that they might have just been passing through the area.

Her mother was Catherine HAMMOND (nee O'Shea). I suspect that her father was dead when she was born (possibly in Canada) but don't know his first name though it might be John.

Her brother, John HAMMOND, was born in Quebec, Canada in ABT 1845.

She was Isabel HAMMOND and according to the 1881 Census (and others) she was born in Chester in ABT 1850.

In 1854 her mother remarried in Grewelthorpe near Masham in Yorkshire.

I would be grateful for any lookups that can be done.
