Thank you for your post. I did follow Carol's post but nothing came of it.
It doesn't seem that William Nimmo and his wife moved back to Scotland as my father's sister says that William Nimmo lived all his life in the Liverpool region (I know he lived at 6 Hampstead road, Wallasey and was a Post Office Clerk by profession) Looking at the 1999 Road Atlas for Britain, Wallasey looks like a suburb of Liverpool as it is just across the Mersey river, even though I am advised Wallasey is in Cheshire.
My feeling is that William chose to be buried with his ancestors in Muiravonside cemetery in Stirlingshire -strangely, his wife is not there, so she must be buried elsewhere.
It's all a bit strange from 12,000 miles away.
