Classification: Query
Surnames: KENT, MARTIN
I have 2 different families. The folks in Cambridgeshire stayed in Cambridgeshire, but I can give you quite a bit of info on them.

Much of this info comes form the Cambridgeshire Family History website, which has searchable databases of baptisms and burials 1801-1837.

Henry Kent bc1805 Welches Dam. Cambr (1851 census) m Mary Martin 1827 Mepal Cambr (Boyd's). Mary bc 1805 "Water Hill, Cambr" (per 1851 census--I suspect this is Wardy Hill, Coveney, Cambr, many Martins lived in "Wardow Hill, Coveney" per the CFHS databases).

children:
John bc1827 Welches Dam per 1851. Baptised 1827 Mepal. (May be same John Kent b Welches Dam living at Manea in 1891)
Elizabeth b 1832 Welches Dam (1851) per IGI christened 1846 Manea. Seems to have illeg. son Charles. Marries Winter. Signs for father death cert 1891.
Mary Ann bc 1832, baptised 1832 Manea (abode Welches Dam) per CFHS
Harriet died at 8 months 1834. Baptised 1834 per CFHS site
Robert bc1838 Welches Dam per 1851. Living in Welches Dam 1871, 1881, 1891. Marries Alice Ann Hiam 1866 North Witchford (Free BMD index). I have found 10 children.
William b 18Dec1841 (1851 and death cert--but on 1841 census as 1) Welches Dam (1851). 1861 living with bro Robert in Welches Dam (lodgers). 1880-1920 living in Centralia, Marion Co, IL, USA. Died 1927.
George bc1846 Welches Dam (1851). I have a pic of he and Wm in IL as old men--don't know if George moved to IL or visited.
Martha bc1850 Welches Dam (1851)
1851-1861--Mary dies
1861--Henry in Welches Dam
1871--Henry in Welches Dam
1881--Henry in Welches Dam
1890--Henry dies Dec 30; dau Elizabeth Winters signs death cert

So, I'm not sure Henry went farther from Welches Dam than Manea in his whole life (only half in jest)--the family was agricultural laborers. William did well in IL--his farmhouse and some land is still owned and lived in by his son Thomas's younger kids.

The Northumberland family (married in Shoreditch, Middlesex)I don't have as much info on. 6 known kids, 4 known baptised, 1 in 1851 census, living with widowed mom, said born North Shields
