Having done some transcription of parish records myself, I know they are sometimes very difficult to decipher, and so although they should be the same they can have errors/omissions in them.

As a researcher, I would always recommend that you try and look at the primary source (i.e the original registers) when they are available.

In most record offices they are now usually provided on rolls of microfilm, but you can still ask to see the original books, where they survive.
