She lived (with husband Henry Hawkins) in Weymouth, Dorset. I was quite young at the time but have a vague recollection she went into hospital elsewhere before she died but I do not know where.

I expected her death to be registered in Weymouth but (as you have also found) there is no record to match, which leaves us with the problem of her presumably being registered elsewhere, but not knowing which record is her either as Violet or Violet May.
