To continue its genealogy research in Britain, the Chandler Family Association (
http://chandlerfamilyassociation.org/) will pay for a 12-marker Y-chromosome DNA test of male Chandlers with at least three generations of known Buckinghamshire ancestry. This does not exclude ladies from participating - they simply need to get a male relative (e.g. brother, uncle, father, cousin) with an unbroken male Chandler line to agree to provide a DNA sample. An additional subsidy will be available to pay for a more extensive DNA test in particularly interesting cases.
We would especially like to hear from descendants of the Chandler bell-founders of Drayton Parslow, or of Chandler religious dissenters around Aylesbury in the late 1500s.
Please send details of your Chandler ancestry (at least three generations) to me -
DickChandler@ChandlerFamilyAssociation.org - and we will get back to you as quickly as possible.
We have a limited number of tests available, and the CFA reserves the right to choose which lineages to fund. If you would like to know more about the use of Y-chromosome testing for genealogy purposes, please write to me.
