I am looking for my ancestors abroad. George Annandale was recruited in Buckinghamshire 1819 and set sail on the Zoroaster 12/2/1820 as a labourer (colonial department list no.57) to South Africa. He was a member of Thornhill's party.
Who was parents and where was he from? The internet defaults me to the town Annandale and I am unable to find any info regarding him.
As per South African records: George Annandale, 20yrs old, smith. Born c.1799,son of John and Mary,he married Susanna Jacoba de Beer in 1826 in Somerset East Eastern Cape South Africa. They later owned a farm "Annanwater" Wodehouse district, Eastern Cape, South Africa.
