On the 1891 census Ref RG12/1168 St Thomas Oxford Sch 195 which is New Gate Prison there is an entry for William Stokes Prisoner age 42 a General Labourer born Buckinghamshire.

I believe William could be the son of John Stokes & Mary Ann (Roberts) Stokes.

What I am seeking are details of William Stokes his crime and punishment any information appreciated.
