STURROCK -- Beatrice "Trixie" Mary Sturrock (nee LOCKE). Our Mom went aloft on Monday, October 30, 2000 to join her Lord, husband, James and her family. Trixie was born in Slough, Buckinghamshire on May 7, 1912, and the youngest of eight children. She and her family came to Canada during World War I and resided in Victoria's James Bay neighbourhood. Trixie was a graduate nurse from St. Joseph's Hospital and loved her career as head operating room nurse. While in Victoria she met the man that would become her husband, James Corydon Sturrock (July 25, 1910 - March 13, 1990). They moved to New Westminister where they raised their 3 children, Craig, Janet and Paddy. She was also blessed with 2 grandchildren, Matthew and Lesley. Mom devoted her life to her family. Ever the consummate mother, friend, mentor and counsellor, she freely gave to her family and friends the gifts of faith, hope and love. Never one to dwell on the negative, she taught her family valuable lessons everyday of her long life. She overcame adversity that life presented her. We have been blessed by her abundant love and she is with us forever.
A memorial service celebrating our Mom will be held at St. Francis in the Wood, West Vancouver on Monday, November 20, 2000 at 2 o'clock p.m., 4773 S. Picadilly Road, West Vancouver, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mom's memory can be made to Canuck Place, 1690 Matthews Avenue, Vancouver, B.C. V6J 2T2.
