See http://www.hertfordshire-genealogy.co.uk/data/places/places-... for a picture of St Faith's in 1720. The church had a chequered history being completely rebuilt in in 1824 - and the tower fell down in 1947 - apart form other problems. The real test is to see if there was gap in St Faith's parish register around the time you mention which could suggest the church was out of commission because of building problems.

A more immediate question is where the children of the marriages you mention were christened - or whether there are no surviving records of such christenings. Many non-conformists would not enter their local church on religious grounds so would not want the local minister to marry out the marriage ceremony. But only the Church of England could carry out marriages - so some couples deliberately married out of parish (quite often in London) rather than have to go to the local parish church.
