I just realised I forgot to include the birth info in my previous post - hopefully this will help narrow down the possibilities.

John Romeril born January 1841, Leoville, St Ouen
married (at St Ouen)*about 1882* (NOT 1884 as I originally wrote)
Rachel Pirouet born about 1844, also in Leoville St Ouen.
So both were fairly late to the altar - John being 41 and Rachel about 38.
