Hi,
I have an ancestor who was born in Guernsey, named William Wood (b.1820). It seems he was born in Guernsey, but on one census he is listed as having been born in France.

He married a Elizabeth Brunsden who was born in 1821 in Marlborough, Wiltshire. He married her in 1842 in Marlborough, and the family seemed to have stayed there permenantly.

I was just wondering if Wood was a Guernsey family name or if his family had just been passing through at some point. If anyone has any information on him, it would be fabulous to know!!
