Hi fellow genealogists,

I am a new subscriber and this question may seem quite idiotic, so please forgive me.

I am looking for records for my mother's side of the family.

She was born in Guernsey, CI on 7 Mar 1919 and died there on 1 May 1947.

However when I search for her birth and marriage records etc, I come up blank.

I get a list of matches but they are broken down into different categories, ie, 'England & Wales Marriage Index, England & Wales Birth Index etc.

There appears to be no reference to the Channel Islands.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction by telling me how I can find matches for the Channel Islands.

All help will result in a hearty 'Thank You' from me.
