Jersey's General Hospital and Workhouse records appear in DISTRICT 49 of St Helier for the census of 1851. John Falle ("pauper scholar"), aged 12, born in St Saviour, appears on folio 968, page 19. I counted the names of at least 116 children in the institution. There were also many adult residents in addition to this.
