Classification: Query
Surnames: CHUANG, CHANG, CHONG, TRUONG
I'm interested in the name CHUANG.
.
How does and English speaking American do genealogical research in Taiwan if I can't speak or read the language?
.
Sometimes the name sounds like TRUONG.
.
Is CHUANG connected to CHANG or CHONG?
.
Do Chinese only trace male lines? Does this mean that every one only has one recorded line of descent?
.
I've heard of a family naming pattern that gave the sons or first sons in each suceeding generation a middle name that was the next word or character in a poem. Has anyone else heard of this tradition?
.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
