Hello Fiona,
I'm a granddaugther of Edward francis von Hagt.
He left for Indonesia and there he married my grandmother Lucie Alema Junius. He was imprisoned in 1942 and died just after the war. His wife and sibblings didn't see him never again.
My mother and her two sisters got married and went with their Dutch husbands to Holland. My grandmother went to Holland too after her mother-in-law died. She, Eveline van Zijl died around 1950.
As far as I know he had one brother who went to Australia and is married to a woman who had already two daugthers. He also had three sisters. One Annabella went to Holland too. My mother died in 2008, she became 88. Her mother died in 1952. Her sisters died in 1951 and 2003.
I have two brothers. Madge her sister has two daugthers. One died sadly in 2004. Her our sister didn't have children.
I'm married and have two boys. I'm born in 1952.
I will ask my father who is still alive and will become 90 next month, what he knows more and I also have some papers, regarding the family von Hagt, but I have to look for them.
I got these papers during our holiday in Sri Lanka.
So you will hear from me in due course.
With kind regards Joke Klijberg
