I would very much appreciate any help in connecting the dots in my family heritage. My father was born in Galle the 21 November 1930. His name was Vincent Warkus de Silva. He changed it in 1950 to Wickramapala as did all his brothers except for one (Wilbert Warkus).

My Grandfather's name was Alwyn Joseph Warkus. Alwyn was born around 1895 and his wife's name was Marie Podinona de Silva. Both my grandparents died in the mid-1960's

The old stories that I have been told were that the Warkus family were originally of German origin. Therefore I believe John Godfried Warkus and his wife Harriet Clout to be ancestors. I know that John Warkus and his wife had at least 2 daugthers and two sons. I can find the daughters listed on ancestry.com and other Internet sites but not the sons. I believe one of these sons links to my Grandfather.
