my great aunt pauline gorte was supposed to have married a Jurk, alexander Jurk changed to york...from saratov...but probably from reinwald..however...her daughter disputes this...that his real last name was georg and changed to york...the gortes...or degorte...came from reinwald...they came over in 1902...but my cousin said her father and grandfather came over ten years before...the gorte's came over on the boat assyria..on march 22, 1902...if that helps...
