KROLOF may have been our name before it became BERNDT. Gottlieb and Maria were born in Germany. Krolof family were Russian Jewish decent. Persecuted by the Czar they escaped to Austria and then Germany. Children: Rudolph Berndt Sr.(1839-1918), Frank J. Berndt (1832-1907/or 1908), Marie Berndt (B 1834).
Rudolph Berndt Sr. was my great,great Grandfather. His son Albert Berndt (1880-1946) was my great Grandfather. He had siblings: Herman, Frank, Rudolph H. Berndt Jr. and Emma Berndt. They're home was Logansport, Indiana.
