I have long given up hope of being able to afford the first marriage details of my great grandfather, death certificate of my great grandfather's first wife and birth of their son. However for all of you looking for information about relatives in the Straits have you tried Singapore Archives? I found a photo of my great grandfather on it. Or else google their name + Singapore Settlement Straits
