Greetings I am trying to trace information on my great grandfather Francis Maxwell ALLAN who reports that he was born in Penang, Straits Settlements circa 1874. He next appears in Canada in 1906 and then England in 1913.

Would love to know who his parents were, and what brought them to Malaysia. There is definitely a Scottish connection somewhere.........

Any clues on how to track his birth certificate would be most appreciated.
