Hello,
I just found your post and hope that you are still monitoring this board.
The missing link in my family is my Great Great Grandfather, who was John Thomas KEYT. I have found records that show that a John Thomas Keyt was sent to the Straits Settlements from Ceylon for a white collar crime of forgery in 1866;
In 1875 there is a J.T. Keyt who was Chief Clerk to Birch in Perak Bandar Baharu, Kedah, Malaysia; Clerk of Council Perak 1877-Nov 1879; 1894 Assistant Secretariat, Perak; then he is listed as being a Government official in Straits Settlements in 1916-1917.
My Great Great Grandmother was Iris Constance SCOTT who died in Penang in 1942 (see attached). They had 4 children: Eva Keyt; Lena Keyt and Walter Arthur Keyt and my Great Grandmother Emily Helen Minnie Scott Keyt (Born abt 1880) who married Samuel Cecil Yeomans. They married 04 Nov 1902 at the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Malaya.
Their children were Enid, Rene, May, Phyliss and my Grandmother Hilda(born 21 Mar 1909) - they were all born in KL.
I would really appreciate any help or guidance as this is all I know about the family. My mother was born in KL and was evacuated from Singapore in abt 1941 with her mother and sisters.
I really look forward to hearing from you. I can be reached at
