My Grandma Haruko Takamatsu (born in 1930's) came to America with my German Grandpa after being married in Japan by German embassy around 1957. Her sister also came to America her name is Keiko Takamatsu (born in 1920's). I know she is married but has no children. She speaks little English so I haven't been able to get much info from her.
Their father was Gensaku Takamatsu and their mother was Hana Shimada. They say they had 8 or so brothers and sisters but cant remember their names. One sister passed within the last few years and was considered wealthy she still lived in Japan. Her name was Akiko. They believe she had one son. One of the brothers died by being run over by a cart around the age of 5. Not sure of his name. Their mother died of illness when they were children and their father remarried. Their step mother (name not known) had 6 children. One brother inherited the family transportation business and family home. It is suspected that he lost both so they will not refer to him by name. They call him stupid brother. They are not sure about their father's death or other siblings. They were still speaking to a brother in Japan but haven't heard from him since the tsunami. They would like to find their family and we would love to know that side of the family and its history.
The stubbornness, old age and bad memory of these women make it hard to find our family so anything helps. My Grandma will be bringing her Koseki from 50 years ago when she comes to visit in November.
