Oriuchi

Hello,

My mother's family name is Oriuchi. I haven't been able to find much of any information on the name. I know they came from Akita and my grandfather had something like 10 brothers and sisters, he was the youngest. His parents died when he was just a chibi kid and his sisters essentially raised him. My grandfather is still alive (in his 90s!!!) and I think he may have a living sibling or two.. Does this sound familiar to any other people with Oriuchi lineage?

Need Help finding information on Sato family

How do you find out information from Japan on a family?

I know that my husband's grandfather is Arthur Sato.

His father's name is something like Masao or Masozo Sato born about 1865 and lived in NY. We were told by many family members that Masao(?) was from a royal or noble family but that's all they knew.
He came over here in the 1890's but have not found the record yet. He did own a large piece of land in NY when he settled here, but lost it somehow to the state.
A friend that is from China said that the first name can actually give you the town of origin and then the house, but I would like to find out everything I can: his ancestors, his correct spelling, if there is a crest, any siblings, etc. If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it.

1910 census http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?db=1910USCenIndex...

1920 Census http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?db=1920usfedcen&a......
To whom it may concern

I am searching for the contact details of Sato Masahiro, my father.
He married my mother, Maureen Swanepoel of South Africa, in the late 1970's. I was born in South Africa on 27 March 1978. Last known address is Funakawa, Oga city, Akita-Ken. My Mother was friends with an American woman named Holly Kitch who is also my Godmother.
Thank you for the offer Fuyuki. I am not sure that a phone book would help. Ran no longer lives in Japan and I believe that Shigenobu's other children are deceased (besides, I don't have their first names). I can only hope to find the grandchildren of Shigenobu and I am certain there are lots of Takayamas in the area. Do you have any suggestions?

i can get a family tohon of shigenobu as a family head by proxy, given you are a direct descendant of him and have his permanent address info to the street # , that is usually one of requirements to apply tohon, and from which can locate and inquiry-email a current town hall, that has jurisdiction over there, among municipalities: 9 cities, 49 towns, 10 villages in akita-ken.... do you have any source of town name??? if they are immigrants then immigration cards in consulate office like in honolulu would tell those whereaboutsinfo...

Looking for "Tomioka" relatives

I would like to contact any relatives of my mother's (Mitsuyo Tomioka). She was born in Akita in 1929. She left Japan and moved to Canada in the early fifties. At the time she left Japan, she was living in Yokohama. She is now in her seventies and it would be so wonderful for her to get reconnected with any of her family members.

Masuzo Hagita

I am looking for any information about the family ancestors and history of Masuzo and Ichi Hagita in Tokyo or Chiba. Their children are Hagima, Minoru, Mariko, Tokie, and a half-brother Kurando. I'm a friend of Tokie (Hagita) Spitz. She married Jim Spitz an American Army soldier after WWII. I have some information that Masuzo Hagita was an engineer and may have been an inventor of a pump. I know the family left Tokyo and moved to Chiba during or after WWII, and that they have a family burial plot there, but I'm not sure of the exact location. Please contact me with any information you may have regarding this family, and how I may contact any living relatives. I live in California in the United States, and my email is: it3fittro@yahoo.com. Thank you. Gary
