Hello everyone.

I am looking for record for my ancestors who were born in Indonesia. My father's name was Tan Tjien Lien (AKA John Tantosubroto), whose father Tan Tek Tho died in Semarang abt. 1949. Grandfather Tek Tho was born in Padang, Sumatra. I am trying to find more about my grandfather's birth and ancestors.

Have anyone been able to extract such information? I would love to hear how anyone is doing that kind of research for such a remote part of the world. It seems that little records were kept for the indonesian chinese in the Dutch databases. Thank you in advance for your kind help.
