I'm trying to trace the Moxon family. Its believed that William Moxon, his wife Catherine and their children William Thomas, James Richard and Kate Amelia went to India in the early 1860's, probably with the railway. William seems to have disappeared, but Catherine and the 2 younger children appeared in Melbourne in 1865. William Thomas seems to have stayed in India and married Sarah Agnes Hyland. Herbert Hamlin Moxon, who appears to be the grandson of William and Catherine, died in Calcutta in 1937, he was a retired driver with the East Bengal Railway.I would like any information at all on the family or any information on the railways in India from the 1860's onwards.
