Looking for YOUNG Hee/Hei, born in Canton (Guanzhou) in January 1870, the son of YEUNG Tsoon, (also known as YOUNG John) and LAU Sze. YOUNG John was in Greymouth, New Zealand from about 1878. YOUNG Hee joined his father in Greymouth in 1884, attended the local school and worked as a law clerk for Michael HANNAN from 1889 until his departure for Hong Kong in December 1901. YOUNG Hee was a wealthy businessman and married several times, having a total of 18 children plus four children with a European wife (name unknown) whom he met in Greymouth but who later lived in Hong Kong until YOUNG Hee’s death when she emigrated to England. The children of this relationship were called Rose, Ruby, Gus & one other. I would like to correspond with anyone interested in exchanging information on this family.
