I am of the Boyajian (Boyadjian) Lineage. My grandmother's maiden name was Boyajian. I have lost of US information but only up until we go back to the horrible events in Armenia prior to their arrival in the US. Many went thru France but we do have a Boyajian married in Cuba as well. I was curious of the same thing. How the heck did they get to CUBA?!

I attached the Death Cert of a family member as well as a picture in Armenia of my family heritage before they left Armenia. Many many many of this family and cousins did not live thru the death marches etc. but a few did. Thank Goodness

Looking for any information on my grandfather's family, his name is Ahmed Aliyev. I know it is a common name, so I don't have big expectations, but anything at all would be great. He has two children, Rovshan, my father, and Tamilla. He lived in Moscow for a long time. He must be around 70 years old.

Yes, one of the buildings he designed is the office of the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan. You may wish to consult http://azer.com/aiweb/categories/magazine/ai132_folder/132_a... as they made quite an interesting research into architecture of Baku of 19-20th century. Contact the editor and hope she will provide your sources. The other option is to contact Union of Architects and ask them for help at azer_architect@hotmail.com (thats what I found). Alternatively, you can contact Union of Polish architects as there were many Polish architects designing buildings in Baku of those times.

Hope Im not late :-)

My Armenian great grandmother on mother's side, Sophia Jerachian, went to Cuba from Aleppo,Syria (where she was a refugee with several children after her husband was killed by the Turks)..in the end my grandmother was the only child who survived and came to America at age 18 to marry my grandfather. My grandmother seemed to enjoy her childhood and the beauty of Cuba, but I believe she was too young to remember anything of Aleppo.

SKIBINSKI Eugeniusz - Baku

I am looking for information on architect Eugeniusz SKIBINSKI born in Shemaxa (possibly) in 1858, of Polish origin. He built many important buildings in Baku, and taught at the Technical School in Baku in (I believe) the 1920's. He had studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts in St Petersburg. In particular I would like to know where/when he was born, where/when he married (probably Baku) and where/when he died (probably Baku). How would I go about looking up a birth/marriage/death record and obtaining any certificate? This is a completely new part of the world for research for me so any help however small would be appreciated. Thank you. Jenny

Makaroff from Stalino, Xanlar, Azerbaijan

Looking for information on my great grandfather Nicholas Avctonom Makaroff was born in Stalino, Xanlar, Azerbaijan on 5/22/1883. He maried Anastasia (Nancy) Olchowska (unsure about spelling of last name) who was born in Tusova, Lerik, Azerbaijan around 1885. From what I hear the area was under British rule but was predominantly Russian during this time. Nicholas and Nancy both emigrated to the USA in 1907. Nancy and her baby daughter Milica emigrated on the ship Kronprinzessin Cecilie from Bremen to New York and arrived on 11/6/1907. Its unknown when and how Nicholas arrived. They settled in Connecticut, USA then moved to Queens, NY, USA. They finally moved to Matawan, NJ, USA sometime between 1920 and 1930. Nicholas' fathers name was Artonum Makaroff and the only name I have on his mother is Mariova. Nancy's mothers name was Maria Olchowska. Nicholas and Nancy had two other daughters,Lydia (b. 1910) and Florence (b. 1911)which were both born in the USA.

My husbands grandmother Pariz (paris) MARDIGIAN OR MARDIKIAN born possibly around 1902 in Armenian (who knows where - beings with an "A")watched her stepfather be beheaded by a turkish man with a large sword and her mother threw herself in to the Euphrates river in Armenian. She was hidden and survived, some how she ended up in in an orphanage in Aleppo Syria. I am not sure how but she came to Cuba in 1928, my husbands grandfather Sarkis (Sarkes) Boyajian also a refugee from Armenia married her in Cuba June 21st 1928 in a civil marriage in the municipal court of El Cano (Caro) Havana Cuba. Their witnesses were "Herair Chakmakjian" and "Sahag Nigolian".
While I find their trip from Cuba to Florida on June 23 1928 I do not find Pariz's trip from where? to cuba. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or thoughts. Any idea about these people would be so appreciated.
Pariz's parents were to the best of my knowledge (according to marriage records) Mother Araksee Mooradian (last name is from second marriage no maiden name) Father's name of Pariz is Mergedith Marougian ( no idea about where Mardigian or Mardikian fits)
