I am trying to find information about my grandfather Albert du Plooy. He was born about 1893 and I think he died in the 1960's but I can find no record of his death or burial. He married Gladys Muriel Wheeler in 1917 and his name on the marriage certificate is Albert Douploy aged 24. The marriage certificate gives his occupation as 'soldier'. Gladys and Albert were divorced sometime before 1932 when she remarried. I think my father Ronald Robert du Plooy (born 1918) was their only son. I have been told that they had a daughter who died young. During the 1950s he was living in a flat in or off Point Road in Durban and that is all I know about him. If anyone can help with this research it would be very grateful.
