Hi,
I have now found myself researching an ancestor who states in a hand written letter that he took part in the Zulu War in 1879, but he doesn't mention in which way.

He also states that he became naturalised in South Africa.
Is there any way or place that I can try & verify his story?

His name is/was James Galloway & was born around 1854.
I am trying to locate a place of birth.
