Does anyone have any information on the Archdeacon George Burton and his wife Hannah Rebecca Burton (nee Hewitt), who were quite the celebrities in 1936 in Oyo Nigeria. Archdeacon Burton was the vice principal of the Church Mission Training School, which is still going today.The Principal was Archdeacon F. Melville Jones. Mrs. Burton helped to build the school (literally with her bare hands in the mud!), she received the MBE in 1939. Any information would be much appreciated.
