      <description>i'm looking for information on anyone with the last name serrao from madeira, portugal who immigrated to africa. my grandmother's brother, abel pereira serrao, supposedly immigrated to transvaal, south africa to work in the gold mines. unsure when, but probably sometime around 1910. there may have been another brother named either antonio (antone?) pereira serrao or manuel pereira serrao who immigrated to either angola, transvaal or mozambique. i would appreciate any information that i get. thank you</description>

      <description>If your grandparents were born in Portugal you will be able to get certificates from Portugal.  You migh also be able to get certificates on their children if they returned back after 1975.</description>

      <description>Michelle&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Please contact the British Embassy in Maputo, Mozambique.  They keep info on all the British subjects that either were born or died there.  For a nominal fee you might be able to get birth and death certificates for the people you are looking for.</description>

      <description> Hi - my Great Uncle's name was Joseph Goncalves...i never knew if it was w/a Z or C before, but when i saw Portugal, i thought this may be it. His family was from Cape Verde, however and came to New Bedford.
