I am looking for connections in Mauritius. My great-grandfather migrated to Australia from Mauritius c. 1910.
He was Marie Louis Desire Houbert, b. 16-May-1889 in Beau Bassin. He died in Australia in 1958.

His father, Louis Desire Houbert (b. 1866; d. 11-Apr-1935 in College Lane Curepipe) married Marinette Lafitte (b. 1869; d. 1-Sept-1921 in Curepipe Rd, Curepipe). Louis Desire Houbert was a professor at Royal College. There was also a daughter, Suzanne (b. 1891; d. before 1992 - exact year unknown to us).

Marinette's parents were Maurice Lafitte and Marie Elodie Morin.

I have found another Houbert tree & a Lafitte tree on the internet, but have not been able to link them to our mob. I understand that Houbert is a reasonably common name in Mauritius.

Any information at all would be greatly appreciated.
