There are American and Mississippi Colonization Society records stating who among the Prospect Hill slaves & other Mississippi plantations boarded the Nehemiah Rich, the Renown & the Lime Rock bound for the Mississippi colony at the mouth of the Sinoe River in Sinoe County on the southeast coast in Liberia. There are also records regarding the specific settlement the Prospect Hill slaves went to as well as letters from some of the PH slaves back to former owners in Mississippi. So where in Africa they were is well documented and so are many of their names. Granville Woodson, Sarah Woodson, Mechia Ross,York Walker, Peter Ross, George Jones are some of those who wrote back to Mississippi.
