Hello,
I do have a copy of a photograph which shows your grandfather Thomas Clemett! The original is held by Sheila Fewings, grand daughter of James Henry Fewings, but I have her permission to pass my copy on to you(don't expect high quality!). I also have a couple of small group photos taken by my grandfather, but they are un-named and un-dated, and on one the faces are heavily shaded by their hats. (Also my grandfather Clifton Laver made two trips out there, so there may be some different people on the team.)

However I am very happy to share these with you, I also have a copy of an article written about Sheila Fewings' trip out to see the Von Gotzen, now renamed the SS Liemba. I hope you knew that the von Gotzen is still sailing and being useful, although I have heard that retirement is imminent.
Have you also seen that your grandfather is on the passenger lists - ss Merkara, sailed from London 15/5/1925, Fewings, Davis, Laver, Clemett, Shepherd and Penter (the names are often a bit mangled). We haven't managed to find when they returned.

If you like to contact me directly by email on actspicer@gmail.com, I can send you the images.

Good to hear from you!
Clare Spicer, nee Laver.
