My husband is a Silva from Hawaii. His 2nd greatgrandfather was Jose or Joseph Silva from Cape Verde, Brava. He was a whaler and ended up staying in Hawaii. I assume he jumped ship. He was born Feb. 1825. I don't know anything about his father, mother, brothers, etc. Do you think there is a connection?
