Hello - Manuel dos Reis Gilmette (or gil dos Reis) was married to a Julia da Lomba Rosinha ( my great great x3 grandmother's sister). His parents were Joaquim dos Reis Gilmette and Casimira Cosme (she is also an ancestor of mine). They had a son name Artur. He had a brother, Matteus who married Estephania Engargiola (daughter of Francisco Engargiola and Matilda Coelho - a relative of mine). Manuel and Julia also had a son named Joaquim who was married but had a child with another woman, Rosa Dias, who had a daughter, Laura, who had a daughter, Rosa, who is married to my husband's father. I know that Artur had three sons- David, Arthur and John. I believe they live in Boston.
Another note- Casimira Cosme was the daughter of Antonio Cosme and Gertrudes dos Reis.
Manuel was definitely born around 1850-1855. He was in his 40's when his son Artur was born in the 1890's. I have copies of these actual records on my computer but have to go thru hundreds to find the exact ones. There was one Gilmette and one dos Reis family who intermarried a lot with each other a well as with the Cosme's. They lived primarily in Nossa Senhora do Monte (Tome Barraz and Pedra Molar).
Let me know if I can help with anything else. If this is the person you are looking for then it looks like we're cousins!
