Hi, I don't know how prevalent the Loomis name was IN ny and if there could be a connection. The only Loomis I have so far is my newly-found g.g.grandmother SARAH E. LOOMIS, born 1834 in NY. She married Albert Elijah Pound and they lived in WI, and possibly MT. Some of their relatives in MT and WY and WI. Barb Townsend
