Hello and greetings - tomorrow I will be visiting friends on the Isle of Man - and with the name Cowin - thought that I might be in good company. My tale is somewhat complicated since I was adopted (the name of my birth certificate being Williams) - but the adoptee family (from Salford) was Cowin. A few years back - on a flight to Canada - a guy introduced himself - he too was a (Frank) Cowin. I had understood from some years earlier that the name Cowin was very common on the island - I will have a look in the local phone book on arrival. Kind regards - John Cowin (now living in Essex)
