We finally traced our family to the first families that came from the Canaries. Depending on where you live, you can get some great stuff at the Public Library. Also the Mormons have a gigantic data base. But the best book we found was called With the Makers of San Antonio by Chabot (I hope I have that right...right now I'm traveling and don't have my referece documents.
