| Help from anyone that has any information on the Nicholas Hodge born 1653, he lived at Rye in what is now Rockingham Co, New Hampshire. I have information that I would like to varify that his grandfather was Thomas Hodge born 1583 in Bicester ? England who had at least these sons: Charles, James, Nicholas, and Michael. Charles had the Nicholas that was born 1653 and who settled at Rye, now in Rockingham Co, New Hampshire. He was associated with the Skillings family of Casco Bay and New Castle. James was in what is now Kittery, Maine. One of his sons witnessed a deed there in 1643. Two of James's sons John and Henry went to Connecticut (I have the Hodge line there Book: HODGE AND ALLIED FAMILIES). Nicholas born before 1605 had a fishing vessel and worked the coast from Casco Bay, New Castle, and Rye to Virginia in 1625. Don't have anything on Michael except that he had descents in Maine and New Hampshire and they intermarried with the other brothers children. I believe my family is from the line of Nicholas (1653) of Charles (circa 1620) of Thomas 1583. My ancestor is Thomas Hodge (1748) and he was married in Newberry port to Abigale Young and had two daughters there Elizabeth and Abigale. He removed to Portland Maine with the land lottery. Would like to know the father of Thomas. Also any information on the Nicholas 1653 that married Seaborn Reynolds the adopted daughter of Richard Tucker and his wife Margaret Raynell Tucker. Margaret died on Sagamore Creek after deeding her lands to Nicholas grandson of Nicholas and Seaborn. Seaborn's natural parents were Nicholas and Dorthy Reynolds. Thank you Jo |
