Sunday, December 28, 2008 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home Interment: Rose Creek Cemetery in Coiltown, KY Mr. James R. Peyton, 91 of Madisonville, KY passed away at 3:40 A.M. Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at the Western Kentucky Veteran Center in Hanson, KY. He was born September 9, 1917, in Coiltown, KY to the late James M. and Ola Utley Peyton. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Bryant Peyton; three sisters and three brothers. Mr. Peyton was a coal miner, a World War II veteran and of the Pentecostal faith. He is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Romane) Peyton Miller and Joy (Sonnie) Peyton Baird; six sons, Carroll (Maymie) Peyton, Gary E. (Nancy) Peyton, James D. (Glenda) Peyton, Joe (Charlotte) Peyton, Roger (Betty) Peyton and Harold Peyton; one brother, Marvin W. Peyton; one sister, Ann Cox all of Madisonville; 25 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren & 4 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, December 28, 2008, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Denzel Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Creek Cemetery in Coiltown. Friends may call on Saturday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Sunday from 11:00 A.M until the service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Gary Wayne Peyton, Tommy Peyton, Joseph Edward Peyton, Zachary Baird, Shannon Peyton, Anthony Peyton, Naomi Phillips and Steven Peyton.
